Dear Friends of Interfaith Philadelphia,
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Sara Zebovitz as the next Executive Director of Interfaith Philadelphia, effective July 1, 2026. Following a thoughtful and comprehensive search process, the Board has enthusiastically selected Sara to lead the organization into its next chapter.
As we looked to the future of Interfaith Philadelphia, we sought a leader who embodies our mission, understands our community, and possesses the vision to guide us forward. Sara has demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and a profound commitment to building relationships across difference. She understands the transformative power of interfaith engagement and is uniquely positioned to lead Interfaith Philadelphia at this exciting moment in our history.
Reflecting on her appointment, Sara shared:
I am excited and grateful to step into this new role at Interfaith Philadelphia. I believe that interfaith relationships and understanding are the answer to the dreams, questions, and challenges that we hold, and I am honored and humbled to have the opportunity to continue this work, in partnership with all of you.
Sara has been an integral member of Interfaith Philadelphia’s leadership team, helping to advance the organization’s mission, expand fundraising efforts, and support the growth of programs that reach thousands of people across our region.
She successfully served as Interfaith Philadelphia’s Associate Director for the past three years and prior to that as Director of Institutional Advancement and as Interim Director. During that time, she co-led our strategic planning process, increased program revenue, and facilitated a successful 20th anniversary campaign leading to the development of an Innovation Fund. Before coming to Interfaith Philadelphia, Sara served as Executive Director of Habonim Dror North America.
Please join me in congratulating Sara on this well-deserved appointment and in supporting her as she begins this new role.
With gratitude,
Rev. Joyce Shin, Ph.D.
Chair, Board of Directors of Interfaith Philadelphia
