William P. Becker

Secretary

William P. Becker received a B.A. from Yale College in 1966 and an M. Arch from the University of Pennsylvania in 1969.  He worked in architectural practice for sixteen years with a variety of firms, including the eminent architect Louis I. Kahn, followed by four years in real estate development and property management as president of Reading Real Estate.  He spent the ensuing twenty-five years providing professional project management of design and construction projects as the owner’s representative, including sixteen years as founding Principal of Becker & Frondorf.  Mr. Becker retired in August 2014.

Mr. Becker currently serves as a board member of JEVS Human Services, Interfaith Philadelphia, and New Horizons Senior Center.  He was the founding chair of the Design Advocacy Group, former chair of the Foundation for Architecture, and is a former board member of the American Jewish World Service, the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, the Central Philadelphia Development Corporation, Entrepreneur Works, Philadelphia Reads, and the Urban Affairs Coalition.  He is also a past president and former building committee chair of Congregation Beth Am Israel in Penn Valley.
