St. John’s Lutheran Church in Melrose Park 

In addition to a strong program of outreach to address local needs, issues in the metropolitan area, and in mission fields abroad; art, music and drama have been important to St. John’s from its early days until the present. Support for the Lutheran Settlement House, partnership with Nueva Creacion congregation in Kensington as well as a parish in Tanzania, feeding the hungry and providing school supplies for children have been key efforts in recent decades.  Ecumenical and interfaith relationships have also been important to the congregation.
