Equipping Philadelphians with Skills to be an "Interfaith Ally"

Wednesday, September 20, 2017

On September 19, over 40 Philadelphians, representing teachers, students, clergy, business people, community activists, and more filled the Interfaith Center' conference rooms for an "Interfaith Ally Workshop."

Facilitators Anneke Kat and Rev. Josh Blakesley introduced participants into concepts of interweaving identity and intervention techniques before jumping into case studies where the group was faced with different scenarios ranging from outright threatening religious prejudice in the streets to subtle microaggressions against a friend, family member, and co-worker.

We hope that everyone left that evening feeling more informed of ways in which we confront discrimination each and every day and better prepared to respond to those instances when they happen in the future.
