Spending the Day at the Islamic Society of Chester County

Sunday, January 29, 2017

This weekend, students, mentors, and leaders from our Walking the Walk West Chester Network spent their session at the Islamic Society of Chester County (ISCC) where ISCC leadership and youth led an exploration of the sacred space there. Participants also received an introduction to the history and makeup of the community as well as some background on Usul al-Din and the five pillars of Islam. After also checking in to have a deep dive into feeling around the recent "Muslim Ban," students were able to share a "potluck dinner" featuring dishes related to a holiday or tradition from their faith background.
