Sheikh Anwar Muhaimin
Anwar Muhaimin was born in Philadelphia, PA and left the city at the age of 11 with his family to formally study Islam in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He completed memorization of the Holy Quran and was granted the title of Sheikh from the Islamic University in Medina, Saudi Arabia by the Department of Arabic Language, from which he graduated with honors with a degree in Arabic literature. He recently completed his graduate studies at Gonzaga University and holds a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership.
He currently serves as President and Executive Director of Quba Institute, a religious school in Philadelphia, and is the Senior Imam at Masjid Quba, the oldest mosque in the city. Additionally, he serves as a board fellow of Interfaith Philadelphia and is a co-convener on the Religious Leaders Council of Philadelphia.
