Reverend Bonnie Camarda

Rev. Bonnie Camarda has served as the Director of Partnerships for The Salvation Army in Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware since 1999. In this role she forms fruitful partnerships with area business leaders, government leaders, prospective donors, fellow social service organizations, and works with individuals across socioeconomic and cultural lines to offer spiritual guidance and hope.

Rev. Camarda currently serves on the Board of Neuva Esperanza and the Philadelphia Housing Authority, is the President of Hispanic Clergy of Philadelphia, and is a moderator for Faith and Community Partnerships of the School District of Philadelphia. In her personal and professional work, Rev. Camarda works tirelessly as a non-violent activist to support education, advocate for mutual trust and respect, and maximize the spiritual assets, social capital, and civic values of underserved neighborhoods. On a recent trip to The Salvation Army in Puerto Rico with Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf and local delegates, Rev. Camarda learned about the long-term recovery of the island in the wake of Hurricane Maria.  Upon returning Rev. Camarda received a Citation from City Council as an Honorary Puerto Rico Citizen of the Year in 2018 for her outstanding work for all Puerto Rican citizens recovering from Hurricane Maria, especially those that transition to Philadelphia.
