Rachel Shields

Rachel Shields is reference librarian at Stanford University's law library.  Prior to joining Stanford, she worked as a civil defense attorney for five years in Philadelphia.  She also clerked for the Hon. David M. Ragonese, J.S.C. in Camden, New Jersey.  


Rachel received her J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of South Florida.  While in law school, Rachel was involved in Moot Court, the Wake Forest Journal of Business and Intellectual Property Law, the Student Bar Association, and Trial Bar.  She participated in a number of clinics, including the Community Law and Business Clinic, the Litigation Externship Clinic, and the Micro-Trade Development Clinic in Nicaragua.  Rachel also worked for the Office of the Speaker in Washington, DC and as a Scholarly Research Fellow for the law school.


Rachel is a Michigan native and enjoys visiting her family and friends back home.  She also grew up dancing ballet, a hobby she still enjoys as an adult.
