Nzinga Elmekki Aziz is the middle child of five and spent her childhood growing up between Qum, Iran and Philadelphia, PA. Subsequently, Aziz attended Jami’at uz-Zahra Islamic Theological Seminary in Qum, Iran (1993-1997). Aziz is a graduate of Drexel University, holding a  Master of Science degree in Nursing Education and has worked as a registered nurse for over fifteen years, primarily in the Community Health setting. She is currently employed as a hospice nurse with Montgomery Hospice in Maryland. Her interest in and love of matters related to faith and health, were stimulated from an early understanding of the need to address the spiritual health and wellness of the human being ALONG with our medical, physical and emotional needs. Aziz is involved in various interfaith and intrafaith activities and finds value in working with others who recognize the richness and depth of our interwoven tapestry. A college senior and high school freshman call her “Mama!”.
