Interfaith leadership is more than simply practicing religious tolerance—it’s about genuinely understanding and respecting a wide range of religious and spiritual traditions, and knowing how to foster meaningful dialogue and collaboration across them. In fields like education, healthcare, social services, and corporate environments, the ability to navigate religious diversity has become an essential professional skill.

Foundations of Interfaith Leadership LIVE, a multi-week certificate program offered in partnership with Interfaith Philadelphia and Interfaith America, equips professionals nationwide with innovative tools to meet this need. Participants engage in a blend of independent learning and required live Zoom sessions, creating an interactive and flexible learning experience.

Cohorts bring together a vibrant mix of students from a variety of faith backgrounds, including Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Pagan, and Quaker—each contributing unique perspectives to the shared learning environment.

In a past program, one participant, an administrator working in diversity and inclusion at The University of Tampa, was invited to join her institution’s Resource Team for Faith, Values, and Spirituality. Thanks to insights gained through the program, she stepped into the role with a broader understanding of how spirituality shapes the experiences of students, faculty, and staff across campus.

Another student, a middle school religious studies teacher in Seattle, found tremendous value in the virtual group setting. She has already woven the program’s listening and storytelling techniques into her classroom practice and described the experience as “mind-blowing” in its ability to strengthen her leadership skills.
