Honoring

Britain Covey

Philadelphia Eagles Wide Receiver and Punt Returner, Beloved and Devoted Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

Interfaith Philadelphia is pleased to present Britain Covey with the 2025 Dare to Understand® Award at our Stand Tall event on May 15, 2025.

Covey Stands Tall in his faith in all aspects of his life. As a Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver and punt returner, Covey remains steadfast in his faith despite public pressure to conform and heavy expectations to succeed. Covey openly lives his faith by sharing his values through his actions and interactions with those around him. Covey's positive attitude and outlook uplift all those around him, and he is gracious in sharing his time with others. He brings his full self, inspiring others – young and old – to do the same.

Join us to celebrate Britain Covey and his steadfast commitment to his faith – Standing Tall in all that he does.

About The Honoree

Britain Covey is a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles and a key contributor to the team’s special teams unit. A member of the Eagles’ Super Bowl LVII roster in 2022, Covey led the NFL in punt return yards during the 2023 season with a career-high 417 yards. He was the only player that year to record multiple 50+ yard punt returns (2) and topped the league in punt returns of 10+ yards (16, tied), 15+ yards (13), 20+ yards (7), and 25+ yards (5, tied).

A devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Covey put his football career on hold to serve a two-year mission in Chile—an experience he describes as the best two years of his life. Upon returning, he resumed his playing career and continued to excel on the field. Off the field, he uses his platform to support Bridle Up Hope, a foundation created in memory of his cousin Rachel, who tragically passed away after battling depression. The organization, inspired by Rachel’s love of equestrian training, provides life skills development, barn services, and self-renewal activities to those in need. Covey also honors the memory of another cousin, Jenna, who died by suicide a few years after Rachel.

Covey draws inspiration from his grandfather, Stephen R. Covey, author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, a global bestseller with over 40 million copies sold. He credits his grandfather as one of his greatest influences and strives to embody the principles outlined in the book.

About Interfaith Philadelphia

Since 2004, Interfaith Philadelphia has served the Philadelphia region, building relationships and bridges with and among diverse communities. Through immersive programs like our Mosaic youth summer program, trainings and workshops such as Navigating Difficult Conversations, or our facilitation of critical tables including the region’s Religious Leaders Council of Greater Philadelphia, we continue to challenge Philadelphians to Dare to understand® one another.

This is vital work. In times often characterized by division, misunderstanding, hatred, and violence, Interfaith Philadelphia sets a large table, inviting all to listen respectfully and share authentically. We are proud to do this work in the birthplace of religious freedom, and to have over 500 religious, civic, and corporate partners who believe in this vision.
