MSW Intern

Dalia {DELL-ya} is an afro-Arab femme residing in Philadelphia. An educator, creator, and healer – Dalia has a passion for transformative justice and imagining alternative solutions to the carceral state. They have been facilitating transformative justice processes within communities and collectives between perpetrators of crime and survivors. A now full-time Masters in Social Work student at Bryn Mawr, they work to ensure a deep look at how social workers can be an arm of the carceral state.

Dalia utilizes their years of event planning, discussion, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills while working on an ongoing list of projects centered on Islam, queerness, and transformative justice. Dalia has also led many workshops with the majority of them centering around spirituality, afro-futurism, trauma healing, and the incorporation of tarot.

While staying rooted in an abolitionist practice and theory, as well as Islam and the mercy of the divine, Dalia is beyond excited to be working with Interfaith Philadelphia on program planning and implementation.
