Rev. Cairn Neely

Chester County Youth Programs Consultant

Rev. Cairn Neely, The Outdoor Chaplain, is from the beautifully rich Chester County, Pennsylvania. Raised in rural landscape and small town culture, Chaplain Neely values the spiritual benefits of both nature and community. They have been rooted in the interfaith work of Chester County thanks to the phenomenal network of religious leaders, including Neely’s mentor, Rev. D. John Woodcock.

Involved in chaplaincy for more than 10 years, Rev. Neely received an M. Div from Lancaster Theological Seminary with Chaplaincy Specialization and earned a UNESCO Environmental Sustainability diploma through immersion studies with the shamans and people of the Ecuadorian rainforest. Their clinical experience includes trauma, grief, and bereavement work. In addition to membership with the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF), they hold certifications in Pastoral Care and Crisis Intervention. Professional engagement includes racial, environmental, and social justice work both locally and nationally with the International Council of Community Churches (ICCC) and  the Consultation on Church Union (CUIC), as well as offering individuals private (or small group) Nature sessions for spiritual guidance. The Outdoor Chaplain walks an ecumenical interfaith path.
