Director of Seminary and Training Initiatives
The Reverend Alison Cornish is ordained in the Unitarian Universalist tradition. Alison has a background in parish ministry, nonprofit management, multifaith work, and advocacy for the marginalized.
A graduate of Wellesley College, the University of York (UK), and Andover Newton Theological School, Alison began her career in historic preservation, working for municipalities and nonprofit organizations in New England and New York state. After attending seminary, Alison served two Unitarian Universalist congregations on Long Island as parish minister and worked for the Long Island Multi-Faith Forum. In Philadelphia, Alison served as Senior Director of Programs for Partners for Sacred Places, working with congregations of all denominations, their historic buildings, community ministries, and development of resources.
Along with her work at Interfaith Philadelphia, Alison also serves as Executive Director of Pennsylvania Interfaith Power & Light, a statewide organization that supports congregations and individuals to respond to climate change as an urgent, moral issue. She is also the Affiliated Community Minister at First Unitarian Church, Philadelphia.
Alison lives in Fairmount with her husband Pat Moran, an artist and art installer. She enjoys just about anything to do with water – swimming, boating, floating – and is a volunteer at the Fairmount Water Works
