Members of Interfaith Philadelphia’s Board of Directors and Religious Council of Greater Philadelphia will be center stage at the 38th Annual Liberty Medal Ceremony honoring Pope Leo XIV.
The July 3rd event, held outdoors at the National Constitution Center, will recognize The Holy Father’s lifelong work promoting religious liberty and freedom of conscience and expression around the world, ideals enshrined by America’s founders in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Taking part in the event will be our board members, Imam Quaiser D. Abdullah, Ph.D., Director, Mayor’s Office of Muslim Engagement; The Reverend Carolyn C. Cavaness, Pastor, Mother Bethel AME Church; and Rabbi Jill L. Maderer, Senior Rabbi, Congregation Rodeph Shalom.

Founded in 2006, the Religious Leaders Council of Greater Philadelphia is a network of 36 senior faith leaders from diverse religious traditions. Organized by Interfaith Philadelphia, the Council represents more than 1.5 million people across the region and works to strengthen relationships and address issues of shared concern.
