Dr. Mikhail Sergeev is an American scholar of religion of Russian descent, Ph.D. (Temple University, 1997). For thirty-five years, he taught the history of religions, philosophy, and modernist art at various American institutions of higher education, including Temple University and the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He has published over 200 academic, literary, and journalistic essays and articles infourteen countries in North America, Europe, and Asia. Sergeev is the author and editor of fifteen books, including the recently published illustrated volume The Crucifixion in Western European Painting: From the Middle Ages to Postmodernism (Azbuka-Atticus, 2024). He hosts the bilingual educational YouTube channel Misha Impossible.
