Betul Maden-Yilmaz
Development and Outreach Manager
Betul Maden-Yilmaz is the Development and Outreach Manager at Interfaith Philadelphia. Originally from Bursa, Türkiye, and raised as a first-generation immigrant in New York City, she was immersed in a vibrant interfaith community, which shaped both her academic interests and her passion for building understanding across cultures and beliefs. This led her to earn a Bachelor’s in Religious Studies and English Literature from CUNY Hunter College, and she furthered her studies at Harvard University earning a Master of Theological Studies, and a Certificate in Religion and Public Life.
Betul first joined Interfaith Philadelphia as a Theological Intern in 2023 during her graduate studies, and has continued to stay involved since by facilitating for IP’s Youth Work Initiatives and Leadership Institute programs. She has also coordinated IP’s new Young Adult Interfaith Brunch programming since September 2025, planning and hosting monthly gatherings that foster curiosity, connection, and conversation while breaking bread together.
Eager to continue this work, Betul is committed to advancing Interfaith Philadelphia’s mission in the city she has called home for the past two years.
When she isn’t at work, Betul enjoys traveling, trying new recipes, and spending time with her husband Tunahan Yilmaz, who is a residential real estate investor, and their lovely cat, Balım.
